Cindy
- What is "Cindy"?
- Yet another CU-SeeMe client program for MS Windows. It is not only just
a client program, but also "PMRef friendly".
- What is Cindy's goal?
- It is to demonstrate PMRef's new features ...
- Co-existance of IPv4 connections and IPv6 one.
- PMRef2 can have connections from both IPv4 address and IPv6 one and Cindy
can have the one to both IPv4 and IPv6. If you have global IPv6 address(you can get free IPv6 addresses with connectivity from your IPv4 network), your windows configured to use IPv6, also your .NET framework, try to connect "bacchus6.hyper.linc.or.jp" with Cindy.
- PMRef original password.
- PMRef can have conferences "WhitePine password protected" already.
Unfotunately the encryption logic has never been opened. So I added original
password function to PMRef. Cindy can also connect those conferences.;-)
You can join to a conference "WhitePine / PMRef password protected"
at "bacchus(or bacchus6 for IPv6).hyper.linc.or.jp", cid 2.
- "Close My Video"
- This is not my original idea, but the great programers' one. "Close
My Video" is a function that you can choose to whom you are going
to send your video.
- UTF-8 chat codec.
- With PMRef ver. 2.1.0 or later, you can send/recieve chat in UTF-8, so
that you can chat in your mather tangue.
What can the current version of Cindy do as a CU-SeeMe client?
- Video :
- Sending video(MJPEG), Recieving video(MJPEG, H.263)
- Audio :
- Not yet implemented.
- Chat :
- public and geek.
System requirements to run Cindy.
- OS :
- MS Windows XP/2003/Vista/7(32/64bits).
- Additional MS Software :
- .NET Framework redistributable package ver.3.5 (During installing Cindy, this is installed automatically if it isn't installed
on your PC.)
- DirectX End-User Runtime ver.9c or later ("InstallDirectXManaged" program will check if you need to install
the runtime.)
You can download them from here
- Hardware :
- Web camera (to send video)
- Software :
- SplitCAM I strongly recommend you to use this great software since I can't support
all web cameras you have, and this does it for me. It also makes Cindy
be able to send still images(ext. gif, jpg...) instead of your camera.
Especially you need this to use firewire cam.
Limitations
- The VideoQuality when you use SplitCAM is fixed to "320x240".

You may link this page freely, but you MUST NOT redistribute Cindy.

in Cindy folder of your "Documents" folder.
